SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical has reduced operating rate of its 350,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone unit at Binhai in Tianjin to 70% since 10 January, a company source said on Monday.

The plant can produce 220,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 130,000 tonnes/year of acetone, the source said.

The company has not decided when to recover the plant’s run rate given the soft market situation, the source added.
