LONDON (ICIS)--European styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) January contract prices have rolled over despite contract price rises in principle feedstocks butadiene (BD) and styrene, sources said on Wednesday.
January contract prices for BD and styrene increased by €10/tonne and €35/tonne respectively.
One SBR producer said: “Minor [feedstock] increases do not force SBR prices to go up”.
A second producer attempted an increase of €20/tonne, however, it settled at a rollover for January, adding that demand in February should pick up along with contract prices.
With demand in January described as flat, players shift their focus to February as market conditions are expected to improve.
