Dutch DSM's net sales increase by 4.76% in Q4 ’13

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--DSM’s net sales increased by 4.76% year on year at €2.38bn in the fourth quarter, the Netherlands-based firm said on Tuesday.

The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the fourth quater rose by 30% year on year to €316m, the company said in a statement.

For the full year of 2013, the company’s EBITDA rose by 18.5% to €1.31bn compared with the previous year, while its net sales rose 5.3% to €9.62bn, it added.

Despite the moderate Q4 results in [the] nutrition [business], due to currencies and market weakness, DSM’s market positions remained strong,” the company said.

In the short term our focus will continue on the operational performance of our businesses, supported by our Profit Improvement Program and intensified R&D and innovation programs,” it added.
