LONDON (ICIS)--Exports of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) out of the EU dropped 19% year on year in November 2013, according to data from statistics agency Eurostat released on Tuesday.

EU exports of ABS stood at 9,820 tonnes in November 2012, but dropped to 7,941 tonnes in 2013.

According to data for November 2013, ABS imports into the EU were almost unchanged year on year. However, November 2013 imports were up 12% from the previous month.

The majority of ABS imports into the EU are of Asian origin, with South Korean producers able to offer competitive prices due to the Free Trade Agreement between the EU and South Korea, which allows for lower import duty rates on South Korean ABS.
