DUBAI (ICIS)--EQUATE's petrochemical operations in Kuwait were hit by a power outage on Wednesday, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
The company produces more than 5m tonnes/year of petrochemical products, including ethylene, polyethylene, ethylene glycol, paraxylene, styrene monomer, polypropylene and benzene at its complex in Shuaiba, according to EQUATE's website.
It remains unclear which plants were shut by the disruption in power supply, but “it should be business as usual in a few days,” the source said.
EQUATE officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
