DUBAI (ICIS)--EQUATE's petrochemical plants in Kuwait restarted late Thursday night, a day after the units were hit by a power outage, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The company produces more than 5m tonnes/year of petrochemical products, including ethylene, polyethylene, ethylene glycol, paraxylene, styrene monomer, polypropylene and benzene at its complex in Shuaiba, according to EQUATE's website.
It remains unclear which plants were shut by the disruption in power supply, the source said.
EQUATE officials were not immediately available for comment.
