SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical plans to shut down its polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) units in Shanghai on 10 March for annual maintenance, a source close to the company said on 26 January.
The 250,000 tonne/year PP and the 600,000 tonne/year PE units will be taken off line for about 50 days, the source added.
The supply of both PP and PE in the market is expected to be affected given that Shanghai SECCO is one of the major producers in eastern China, local distributors said.
