SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co (ZRCC) plans to shut down its polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) units at Ningbo in Zhejiang province on 20 May for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Sunday.
The company’s two PP units, with a combined capacity of 550,000 tonnes/year, and its 450,000 tonne/year PE unit will be off line for 45 days, as ZRCC will shut its upstream 1m tonne/year cracker during the same period, the source added.
The supply of both PP and PE is expected to be affected in the market as ZRCC is one of the major producers in eastern China, according to local distributors.
