HOUSTON (ICIS)--US polyethylene (PE) producer INEOS Olefins & Polymers declared force majeure on PE out of its Battleground Manufacturing Complex in La Porte, Texas, sources said on Tuesday.
In a 27 January customer letter obtained by ICIS, the company said it had “suffered a force majeure event,” but did not describe what the event was, or how long it was expected to last.
Allocation levels were not outlined in the letter.
A company spokesman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
INEOS has 781,000 tonnes/year of high density polyethylene (HDPE) capacity at its Battleground Complex in LaPorte, Texas, according to ICIS Plants and Projects.
