HOUSTON (ICIS)--LyondellBasell expects its olefins turnaround in La Porte, Texas, to last 80 days, the CEO said on Friday.
It should start in late March and be completed by the second quarter, said Jim Gallogly, LyondellBasell CEO. He made his comments during an earnings conference call.
The company purchased additional ethylene stocks towards the end of 2013 to build up inventory in preparation for the unit’s turnaround and expansion.
Capacity should increase by 800m/lb/year (363,000 tonnes/year).
The La Porte complex has an ethylene capacity of 789,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
