HOUSTON (ICIS)--Great Quest Metals announced on Tuesday it has hired Thomas Guillot as vice president of corporate development for the Canadian fertilizer exploration company.
Vancouver-based Great Quest is focused on the development of African fertilizer projects. The company’s flagship asset is the Tilemsi phosphate project in Mali.
Prior to joining Great Quest Guillot was chief financial officer at NewGen Asset Management and previously worked in frontier market development with non-governmental agencies in Mali and Peru.
Company officials said Guillot’s primary duties will include engaging with development agencies and banks to assist in the financing of the company's projects in Africa.
In addition, he will direct a community relationship strategy including partnerships with agriculturally focused research and non-governmental organisations and develop strategies for distribution of the fertilizer products in Mali and west Africa.
“Great Quest's strategy of developing African fertilizer projects for African agricultural use has as strong social benefits as it does economic. Having a professional of Mr Guillot's calibre in a senior role will help the company maximise its positive impact on the communities we work in and drive value for our shareholders,” said Jed Richardson, Great Quest CEO.
