Russia Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat 2013 ammonia, C2, PE output rises

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's major petrochemical producer Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat (GNS) on Wednesday said its production of ammonia, ethylene (C2) and polyethylene (PE) increased in 2013.

Last year, GNS produced 480,180 tonnes of ammonia, up 4.1% year on year, the company said, while its output of ethylene was up by 25% year on year at 277,148 tonnes.

In 2013, GNS produced 36,087 tonnes of low density polyethylene (LDPE), a rise of 4.9% year on year.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat also produced 73,412 tonnes of high density polyethylene (HDPE), a 52.2% increase year on year, it said.

In 2011, the company, formerly known as Salavatnefteorgsintez, was renamed to become Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat. It is based in Russia's internal republic of Bashkortostan, and is one of the country's leading ethylene and polymer producers
