HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Q4 styrene production and inventories rose year on year, according to data released by the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) on Thursday.
Fourth quarter styrene production in 2013 was at 2.49bn lb, up by 2% from 2.43bn lb in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Total 2013 production was also above 2012.
Styrene production for 2013 was at 9.85bn lb, up by 6% from 9.27bn lb in 2012.
Meanwhile, 2013 fourth quarter styrene inventories were at 520m lb, up by 4% from 501m lb in 2012.
Major US styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, LyondellBasell, Total, Westlake and SABIC – all of which contributed production figures to the AFPM survey.
