HOUSTON (ICIS)--Prompt US benzene spot bid/offer levels fell below $5.00/gal ($1,497/tonne), according to trade sources on Thursday.
US benzene spot prices have been declining for the past three weeks alongside improved supply availability.
The benzene spot prices have come off from record high spot deals at $5.50/gal mark in mid-January.
Prompt February bids have dropped below $5.00/gal FOB (free on board) this week, but bids and offers have not been under $5.00/gal since 9 January at $4.86-4.95/gal FOB.
