LONDON (ICIS)--Freely-negotiated bisphenol A (BPA) February contract prices rose on upstream cost increases, sources confirmed on Friday.
The February BPA FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe) contract range is €1,450-1,510/tonne, an increase from €1,400-1,500/tonne in January, according to ICIS.
Price rises were driven by the €61/tonne increase in the February contract for feedstock phenol.
A producer said its average €40/tonne increase was largely accepted without resistance by buyers.
"We went with an increase of €40/tonne. We put that in place without any issue at all,” the producer said.
