US December 2013 styrene exports up, imports down

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US styrene exports in December 2013 were up from a year earlier, while imports were down from the same time, according to data released by the International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.

December 2013 US styrene exports were at 187,760 tonnes, up by 48% from 126,859 tonnes in December 2012.

The top three destinations for US styrene in December were Mexico, China and Korea.

Total 2013 styrene exports were also up by 23% from 2012.

Meanwhile, December 2013 imports were at 38,424 tonnes, down by 31% from 55,726 tonnes in December 2012.

Total 2013 styrene imports were up by 20% from 2012 though.
