SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem is planning to shut its aromatics unit in Yeosu from mid-October to November for regular maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The shutdown is expected to last about 40 days, added the source.
Currently, the unit is running at 100% because of sufficient pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) and the company has no plans to reduce operating rates, said the source.
The unit has the capacity to produce up to 54,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene, according to the source.
