SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s Kasyap is in the midst of expanding its total sorbitol plant capacity to 8,500 tonnes/month by June 2014, a company source said on Friday.
The company currently runs two sorbitol plants in India – namely, the 2,500 tonne/month unit at Vapi, Gujrat, and the 3,500 tonne/month unit at Badnawar, Madhya Pradesh, he added.
The Bandnawar-based unit will be expanded to 6,000 tonne/month by June 2014, the source said.
Both plants are being operated at full capacity and the expansion has been underway since December 2013 year, the source added.
