HOUSTON (ICIS)--Ecolab's Q4 net income rose about 24% year on year thanks in part to a nearly 17% gain in net sales, the US water chemicals company announced on Friday.
Net income increased to $287m in Q4 2013 from $231m in the year-prior period.
Net sales rose to $3.560bn from $3.046bn in Q4 2012.
For all of 2013, Ecolab’s net income jumped almost 38% to $968m from $704m in 2012.
CEO and chairman Douglas Baker Jr lauded his company’s performance.
“We delivered solid organic sales growth in a tough global economy, using our product innovation, industry-leading sales and service force expertise, and our focus on delivering the best results at the lowest total costs for our customers,” he said.
