SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Lucite International will be bringing forward a plan to shut down its 93,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Shanghai, China for maintenance to early next month from mid-March, a company source said on Monday.
The plant derives feedstock acrylonitrile from Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical’s plant at the same site that is due for turnaround at the beginning of March, the source said.
“We were planning to shut down the [MMA] plant in the middle of March, but because the maintenance [at the] acrylonitrile plant of SECCO will start on the beginning of March, we have to shut down our plant too,” the source said.“The maintenance will last for about 55 days,” the source said.
