SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Petrochemical plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) No 1 line and 100,000 tonne/year PP No 2 line in Shanghai on 28 February for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

The PP No 1 line will be restarted on 18 March, whereas the No 2 PP line will be restarted on 15 March, the source said.

The supply of PP in eastern China is expected to decrease as Shanghai Petrochemical is one of the major producers, local distributors said.
