Japan’s Shin-Etsu sets May turnaround at Kashima PVC plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Shin-Etsu plans to shut down its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant for maintenance in May, a company source said on Wednesday.

The 550,000 tonne/year facility located in Kashima will be off line for a month, the source said.

PVC is a thermoplastic used in pipes and fittings, profiles, cables flooring, films, and sheets.
