SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Daqing Refining & Chemical is running its 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) line in Heilongjiang province at 100% of capacity, a source close the company said on Wednesday.
The PP line restarted on 15 February, and is producing PP raffia yarn, after being shut down in end-January because of feedstock shortage, the source said.
Daqing’s other 300,000 tonne/year PP line, producing PP injection, was shut down on 15 February for maintenance because the feedstock was only sufficient to keep one PP line running at a time, the source added.
The company’s two PP lines are at the same site.
According to market players in northern China, the shutdown of the PP line producing PP injection will tighten its supply to some extent.
