SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China imported a combined volume of 1.60m tonnes polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in January 2014, representing a 13.87% increase from the previous month, official data showed on Wednesday.
On a year-on-year basis, the country took in 22.46% more PP and PE volumes in January 2014, according to China Customs data.
PP imports in January stood at 588,700 tonnes, up by 11.26% month on month and by 9.1% year on year.
PE imports in January totalled 1.01m tonnes, up by 15.44% from last month and by 31.85% from the same period last year.
