HOUSTON (ICIS)--GEO Specialty Chemicals will build a polyaluminium chloride (PAC) production facility in Deer Park, Texas, as part of an expansion of its Water Treatment Chemicals Division, the US speciality chemical producer announced on Monday.

Financial terms of the project, as well as the plant's planned nameplate capacity, were not disclosed.

Construction will be completed by the end of 2014, GEO said in a news release.

The Deer Park location will be the second PAC production facility for GEO, with the other located in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The PAC facility will manufacture aluminium-based coagulants for water treatment solutions, GEO said.

"This capital investment satisfies GEO's commitment to develop and deliver cost-effective specialty chemical products that help our customers meet increasingly stringent regulatory standards," said CEO and president Kenneth Ghazey.
