SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Ming Dih Group is on track to raise the capacity of its expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant in Bangkok, Thailand in the third quarter, a company source said on Thursday.
The company plans to add a yearly output of 10,000 tonnes to its 40,000 tonne/year facility.
“We were contemplating to bring forward the expansion to Q2 [the second quarter], but given the current political uncertainty and the upcoming Songkran festivities in April, we will stick to our initial plan for expanding the plant in Q3 [third quarter],” the source said.
The other EPS maker in Thailand is Integrated Refinery and Petrochemical Complex (IRPC), which is an affiliate of local energy giant PTT.
