Japan's output of oriented PP film increases by 5% in February

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s production of oriented polypropylene (PP) film rose by 5% year on year to 19,187 tonnes in February, official data from the Japan Polypropylene Film Industry Association showed on Thursday.

Domestic shipments of oriented PP film increased by 9.5% to 18,588 tonnes from the corresponding period a year earlier, according to the association.

Exports of the film increased by 11% year on year to 359 tonnes.

Meanwhile, output of cast PP film stood at 13,067 tonnes in February, up by 5.1% from the same time a year earlier, while domestic shipments rose by 6.6% to 12,268 tonnes, the data showed.

Exports rose by 21% to 514 tonnes, based on the statistics
