HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refiner Phillips 66 will retain its 71,000 bbl/day Whitegate refinery in Cork, Ireland after efforts to find a buyer failed, a company spokesman said on Friday.
Phillips 66 will continue operating the refinery, but it will seek to sell a storage terminal located near the plant, Dennis Nuss told ICIS in confirming a report in the US business press.
The company said in June 2013 that it hired a bank to help find a buyer for the plant. Phillips 66 has 11 refineries in the US and three refineries outside the country.
