LONDON (ICIS)--Nufarm plans to close its plant at Otahuhu near Auckland, New Zealand, to further rationalise manufacturing operations, the Australia-based agrochemicals firm said on Tuesday.

Nufarm is consolidating production at its site in Laverton near Melbourne, Australia.

The closure in New Zealand and the transfer of production to Laverton will be undertaken over two years. The measure, which will affect 59 jobs in New Zealand, is expected to yield savings of Australian dollar (A$) 3m/year ($2.8m/year).

Last month, Nufarm already announced a reorganisation of operations in Australia.
