LONDON (ICIS)--Europe April acrylic acid (AA) contract prices have rolled over and increased by €10/tonne, following the €10/tonne increase in the April feedstock propylene contract price, sources said on Wednesday.
Contract prices are at €1,880-1,910/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
The market is balanced to long and demand is steady, but producers were able to achieve some price hikes on margin recovery.
One producer said: “There is a need for margin recovery, so we were able to get a modest increase. Depending on the product and the customer we had some rollovers. Some customers understand that prices are low and there's a need from our side to go up a bit.”
One buyer said: "We settled everything without any difference to last month."
Spot prices are stable at €1,410-1,430/tonne FD NWE.
AA is used in the manufacture of super absorbent polymers (SAP).
