SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jubail Fertilizer Co (SAMAD) has restarted its 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) plant in Al Jubail after undergoing a turnaround in March, a source close to the matter said on Friday.

The exact timeline of the turnaround duration, however, could not be immediately confirmed.

The plant, which can produce 150,000 tonnes/year of 2-EH, was shut in March, the source said.

Market sources said that the turnaround is unlikely to have a large impact on the spot market because the company is covered mainly by contractual agreements and has limited supplies of spot material.
