LONDON (ICIS)--Europe April methyl methacrylate (MMA) contract prices have risen by €30/tonne from the previous month on cost recovery, sources said on Friday.
April MMA contract prices are at €1,810-1,840/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
“April prices have gone up because of cost increases seen since the beginning of the year,” a seller said.
A buyer said prices had moved up in line with global pricing.
April feedstock acetone contract prices increased by €8/tonne.
Spot prices are at €1,640-1,720/tonne FD NWE.
The principal application of MMA is for the manufacture of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). MMA is also used for the production of co-polymer methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene (MBS), used as a modifier for polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
