HOUSTON (ICIS)--US oxo-alcohol contract prices were assessed at a decline or rollover from March to April on Friday.
Producers had been targeting rollovers for the month, with no announced price increases. Market participants said that there had been some downward pressure on declining feedstock costs and a balanced market as turnaround season began.
N-butanol (NBA) prices rolled over for April. Isobutanol (IBA) prices were assessed downwards by 6 cents/lb on both ends of the range and 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) contract prices were assessed downwards by 4 cents/lb on the low end and 3 cents/lb on the high end.
Price ranges assessed by ICIS are 94-101 cents/lb for NBA; 117-122 cents/lb for IBA and 102-105 cents/lb for 2-EH.
Oxo-alcohol producers in the US include BASF, Oxea, Eastman Chemical, Dow Chemical and Sasol.
