US Evangeline Pipeline returns to service at reduced rates
The US Evangeline Pipeline returned to service at reduced rates and is distributing ethylene, sources said.

US March PET exports rise 21%, imports increase 10% year-on-year
US polyethylene terephthalate (PET) exports for March rose 21% while imports gained 10% year-on-year, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

US March EPS exports increase 4.1% year on year
US exports of expandable polystyrene (EPS) for March were up by 4.1% from the same month in 2013, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

US May propylene contracts fully settled at slight drop
US May propylene contracts reached a full settlement at a slight decline, sources confirmed.

US March butadiene imports increase by 3.0% year on year
US March imports of butadiene (BD) rose by 3% year on year, according to government trade data made available.

Brazil federal court orders disclosure of Petrobras bank records
A Brazilian federal court has ordered the disclosure of banking records belonging to state-run energy giant Petrobras and companies involved in building the long-delayed Abreu e Lima oil refinery in northeast Brazil, the country’s official state news agency reported.

BASF makes strong bet on methane for its US propylene
Having lightened the feed to its joint venture cracker in Port Arthur, Texas, BASF is shorter on propylene in North America than perhaps it would like to be. And having looked at its options, the company has plumped for methane, or natural gas, as its feedstock of choice.

Flint Hills Resources EPS plant down on styrene spill
Flint Hills Resources shut down its Peru, Illinois expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant last month following the release of styrene into an on-site storm water basin, sources confirmed.

Moody's positive on US midstream, but sees weak NGL prices
Moody's Investors Services gave the US midstream industry a positive outlook, but it warned that prices for natural gas liquids (NGLs) remain weak.

US LyondellBasell declares up to 85% allocation on BD
US producer LyondellBasell has raised the percentage of its allocation on butadiene (BD) to "up to 85%", market sources said.
