SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical shut its 489,000 tonne/year cracker at the Kashima complex on 10 May for maintenance and to increase ethylene capacity, a company source said on Monday.
The cracker is expected to resume operations on 1 July.
During the turnaround period, the ethylene capacity at the No 2 cracker will be raised by around 50,000 tonnes/year.
