MELBOURNE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Samyang Innochem plans to begin the process of restarting its 150,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant in Gunsan on 30 May after completing a turnaround, a source close to the company said on Monday.

The plant was shut on 1 May to undergo a month-long maintenance. The source did not provide reasons for the slightly earlier-than-expected restart.

Samyang Innochem, a joint venture between South Korea's Samyang Corp and Japan's Mitsubishi Corp, started commercial operations of its BPA plant in April 2012.
