Celanese ups global chem prices citing raw material costs

HOUSTON (CNI)--Celanese Chemicals said Thursday it will increase
global selling prices for a number of chemicals including glacial
acrylic acid and acrylate esters effective 1 April or as contracts
allow, citing increased raw material costs.
According to Celanese, prices of glacial acrylic acid, ethyl
acrylate and butyl acrylate will increase by $66.12/tonne. Prices
for 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and methyl acrylate will increase by
$88.16 tonne.
Celanese also said it was increasing its 2-ethylhexanol,
n-butanol, iso-butanol and n-butyraldehyde prices in North America
by $110.20 tonne.
The Dallas, Texas-based company said it also is increasing
selling prices for methyl iso-butyl ketone (MIBK), methyl iso-butyl
carbinol (MIBC), diacetone alcohol (DAA) and Celtone in
Europe by $50/tonne for T1 material, in North America by
$66.12/tonne and in Turkey, North Africa, South Africa and the
Middle East by $50/tonne.
Celanese Chemicals is the acetyl product sand chemical
intermediates business of Germany's Celanese AG.
