Ningbo expands sorbic acid capacity

The Ningbo Wanglong Group has expanded the capacity of its sorbic acid and potassium sorbate plants in China to 18 tonne/year and 12 tonne/year respectively after a Rmb40m (US$4.8m) debottlecking exercise.

Before the debottlelecking, the capacity of the sorbic acid plant was 6 tonne/year, and that of the potassium sobate plant 3.5 tonne/ year. Both plants are at Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China.

The company, which used technology developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy, is now the largest producer of both products in China.
