HOUSTON (CNI)--Ticona, the technical polymers business of US chemical giant Celanese, said on Monday it is streamlining its North American engineering thermoplastics distribution and will no longer be represented by GE Plastics.
In a statement, Ticona Technical Polymers said it will concentrate its distributor sales efforts “through Entec and Channel Prime Alliance and will continue its direct sales activities unchanged.”
The company did not immediately return telephone calls seeking additional information.
Ticona said the realignment affects all Ticona resins including Celcon acetal copolymer, Celanex polybutylene terephthalate, Impet polyethylene terephthalate, Vandar thermoplastic polyester blends, Riteflex thermoplastic elastomer, Celstran long fibre reinforced thermoplastic, Fortron polyphenylene sulphide, Vectra liquid crystal polymer and Topas cyclic olefin copolymer.
Ticona produces and markets engineering polymers. It posted 2004 sales of $863m (Euro707.4m).
Dallas, Texas-based Celanese has 29 production plants with major operations in North America, Europe and Asia.
