ICIS pricing's weekly purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and monoethylene glycol (MEG) price assessments are already widely used in the global market as a benchmark for settling transaction prices.
With the price volatility in the market, the Fibre Intermediates (China) report will provide valuable insights into the Chinese market's relationship with the rest of Asia, and report on transactions in Chinese and international markets.
Following the successful launch of the polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) (China) reports, the Fibre Intermediates (China) report is a beneficial addition to ICIS' existing weekly reporting written in the Chinese language.
With an increasing demand for domestic price assessment in yuan and information on the Chinese market, the report will also include assessments of spot US dollar quotes for PTA and MEG.
"Many Chinese market players tell us they need a concise, authoritative and independent report on the PTA and MEG markets in China, written in the Chinese language," said Salmon Aidan Lee, senior editor for the report.
"After extensive consultations with other market players and assessing our resources, we're glad that since late 2006, we have been providing the market with an authoritative assessment of the market based on the ICIS principles of accuracy, independence and impartiality."
