SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Saudi Aramco is expected to bring a hydrocracker at its 550,000 bbl/day Ras Tanura refinery back on stream by early July following a delay due to commercial issues after a scheduled shutdown, an industry source said on Thursday.
The 50,000 bbl/day hydrocracker was initially shut down towards the end of April along with of a number of other major units at the refinery. Maintenance work on other units at the Ras Tanura facility was completed towards the end of May, however the restart of the hydrocracker was halted, the source added.
Ras Tanura is the most complex of Saudi Aramco’s five domestic refineries in Saudi Arabia. Most of the facility’s production is for domestic use although some products are exported.
