PPG to buy SigmaKalon for €2.2bn

TORONTO (ICIS news)--PPG Industries has reached an agreement with private investment firm Bain Capital to buy SigmaKalon for €2.2bn ($3.1bn), including assumed debt, the US chemicals, coatings and glass maker said on Thursday.
PPG said in July it was negotiating the acquisition of Netherlands-based SigmaKalon, a producer of architectural, protective, marine and industrial coatings.
SigmaKalon employs some 10,000 people worldwide and has annual sales of about €1.9bn.
