MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Lonza has divested its Singapore purified isophthalic acid (PIPA) plant for a sum of $138m by selling it to Perstorp to focus on its life sciences operations, it said on Tuesday.

The move was part of the company's strategy following transformational changes to its portfolio implemented last year, the Swiss company said.

"Over 90% of Lonza’s sales now relate directly to the life sciences," the firm said.

Lonza is a leading provider of value chemical and biotech ingredients to the nutrition, hygiene, preservation, agro and personal care markets.
