Jam cracker to achieve on-spec output by end-Mar

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Iran's Jam Petrochemical expects to achieve on-spec production at its 1.32m tonne/year cracker at Assaluyeh by end-March and start up its derivative units by July, a source close to the company said late on Thursday.

“The cracker started up at the end of December, but it will take two-three months to get on-spec output,” the source added.

The start up of the cracker complex had been delayed several times.

Jam’s derivative plants include a 300,000 tonne/year  high density polypropylene (HDPE) plant, which is ready and waiting to be fed ethylene from the cracker, as well as a 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant and a 300,000 tonne/year HDPE/linear low density PE (LLDPE) swing plant.

Jam is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iran’s National Petrochemical Co.
