CAIRO (ICIS news)--Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (Fertil) has restarted its urea unit following an unplanned outage due to technical issues, a company source said late on Tuesday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Arab Fertilizer Association conference in Cairo, the source said that the Abu Dhabi firm’s 1,800 tonne/day prilled urea unit was restarted on Sunday and was back up at normal rates.

In total, around eight days of production were lost at the Ruwais based facility.

Fertil's contract customers were not severely impacted by the outage, although some minor delays resulted.

Fertil has cargoes to deliver to Bangladesh, Iran and India over the coming months.
