Egypt’s Sidi Krir posts 17% rise in 2007 profits

DUBAI (ICIS news)--Egypt’s Sidi Krir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC) has posted a 17% year-on-year rise in unaudited net profits for full-year 2007 to Egyptian pounds (£E) 1.2bn ($217.9m), the company said on Wednesday.
The company's sales rose by 6% to £E2.1bn for the period, it added but failed to elaborate on the results.
SIDPEC is Egypt’s sole producer of ethylene and propylene, with a combined production capacity of about 525,000 tonnes/year.
