SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea's polypropylene (PP) producer Polymirae plans to extend production cuts at its 600,000 tonne/year facility to 60% in October on poor demand, a company source said on Friday.
The Yeosu-based producer had cut production rate at the facility, consisting of four 150,000 tonne/year lines, to 75% in September for the same reason.
One of the lines was shut down on 17 September as part of its planned production cuts, the source said.
It would cut production further in November if demand did not pick up, he added.
