SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Chang Chun Plastics has shut its phenol-acetone plant in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, for scheduled maintenance and a capacity expansion, a company official said on Thursday.

The plant, which currently has 200,000 tonnes/year capacity of phenol and 125,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was taken offline in early October.

“The unit will be idle for two months, and a capacity expansion will be carried out,” the source said.

After the turnaround, the output would be increased by 100,000 tonnes/year for phenol and by 60,000 tonnes/year for acetone, the source added.
