TORONTO (ICIS news)--Cabot on Thursday broke ground on its new 7,000 tonne/year fumed silica plant in Tianjin, northeast China, the US producer said.
The $40m (€30m) plant, a joint venture of Cabot and China National Bluestar, was expected to be commissioned by mid-2010, the company said.
“We are highly committed to the Chinese market and this joint venture will be our second manufacturing facility in the Tianjin area,” said Cabot CEO Patrick Prevost.
