SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Idemitsu Kosan Co has restarted its No.1 and No.2 styrene monomer (SM) units at Tokuyama last week, after a scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.
The 120,000 tonne/year and 220,000 tonne/year units were taken offline in the second-half of September and were restarted when its cracker came online last week after a planned shutdown.
Japanese SM producers include Asahi Kasei Co, Nihon Oxirane Co, Denki Kagaku, Mitsubishi Chemicals and Nippon Steel Chemicals.
